Being Positive and Patient

Lara continues to do bettter, and is slowly getting back into pulling up. The OT mentioned that Lara seems like she might actually be loosening up. I hope so. She is obviously feeling better so maybe that had a little to do with it after all.

I know that I do not share too many details about the conversations with doctors and of therapy sessions we have on a regular basis. Over the last few weeks, I have been made to wonder if people think that is because we're somewhat ignorant on the issues at hand and have nothing to share. There's a lot there, some of which I forget to tell even Dustin. And then I get very tired of constantly talking about Lara's muscle problem. I would love for people to talk more about what Lara CAN do, the words she picks up, her bright personality. It is really hard for me when I am so proud of my daughter and she is such a joy, but then I hear about all the concern that everyone is voicing, to us or to others, and this is all they will talk about. There is always some concern there, but I try not to let it mask the positive. For example, instead of focusing on Lara's stiffness in her crawling, I instead rejoice that she can crawl...and sometimes wish she would just stay put! I wish I could change others' perspectives to see things in this light, but I cannot. As such, I am being taught amazing lessons of patience and understanding.

Lately, Lara has been very sociable and has taken to climbing all over our visitors and asking them for kisses. It's very funny to watch. She is becoming more energetic and has a much shorter attention span than what we could expect from her in the past. She'd rather move around then just sit in one spot. Unless she has her books. She will still sit for a VERY long time to read her books. Which she always looks at very closely and talks while looking at them. She also makes sure to keep her books upside down when reading them.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
