okey-dokey

Hope you all had a pleasant Memorial Day!
My blog is officially private, so consider yourself priviledged. You are reading this, actually, because you sent me your email address! If you did not...well, you won't be reading this!

In 4 days, I will be married for 6 years! Time does fly. Especially when you are happily married!

Tomorrow, I know I am going to post and say, "Lara will be 7 years old tomorrow!" It breaks your heart, doesn't it??

I need to call Early Intervention and ask them why they have not yet approved Lara for her braces. Apparently, in the entire state of IL, there is only ONE person...one, lonely person...who sits at the desk all day and looks through EVERY case of disability in the entire state and approves or disapproves each individual case. Only ONE person. That is probably why they haven't gotten to Lara's case yet.

Also, I have officially decided to switch OTs. I feel so bad to do this, because Lara's OT already lost so many patients when her boss quit (long story). And I feel Lara's OT will feel this loss strongly. BUT, I simply cannot continue to drive all the way to Springfield (1hr drive one way) just for a 1 hr visit once a month. So I must call EI about that also. I will likely have to drive to Bloomington instead. So the driving distance equals out, but it isn't ONE hour ONE way, regardless. Also, I'm no longer going to do OT once a week. Maybe just every other week.

Time to take out the sunblock and hats!!

We got Lara a new push toy. It is taller and also a little lighter, so she has to be more conscious of her balance. She can steer the new one a lot better also. It's not as sturdy though so I am not sure if we'll be taking it out much.

Dustin and I took Lara to Toys R Us on Memorial Day. Big mistake. Lara started throwing such a tantrum (NOT the only child doing that in the store at the time, I will add), so I got upset and stormed out of the store with her. I had to briefly explain to Dustin that I was not mad at him or his purchases/lack thereof, but I was very frustrated with Lara, so goodbye. I don't think I am taking her there anymore. Those are the moments when it really does become hard to have a child with CP. If Lara could walk around, I wouldn't mind her sitting on the chairs or taking some of the toys off the shelf. But she can only crawl, and I don't want to put her down on the dirty floor.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
