I went in for my ultrasound today. Baby looks great, and is AT LEAST 8lbs. Why do people think this is SO big? Well, that's okay. Actually, the baby weighed at 9lbs according to the u/s, but the u/s usually measures on the heavier side. My amniotic fluid is great, and, really, everything is great. Yay! It is so nice to have a pregnancy that is not full of concern. I was checked again, and I have progressed to something close to 7cm (4cm yesterday) and 90% dilated. My contractions are not consistent, so I am still at home. I think the entire L & D ward is on stand-by for my arrival (because my doctor did in fact call them to let them know I might be arriving today/tonight). On top of this, Dustin and I decided to grab some supper this evening, so we headed out together, grabbing a couple bags to have them ready in the car for when we need to leave for the hospital. Our neighbor saw us, and posted a note on my Facebook that she saw us leave "around 8, with bags in hand" giving the assumption labor had really started. We found this out while we were still out-out at our friend's house, who received a text from her sister-in-law saying she saw the comment. So our friend took my picture, sent it off, and said, "No, she's not at the hospital yet!" So if you saw the comment, we did in fact leave around 8, with bags in hand, but the destination was Subway, and not the hospital. While eating out at the park, my OB walked by! So we chatted for a bit-I told her I was feeling clueless about when to go in to the hospital, and she said just to keep waiting for the contractions to get closer together. I've been quite amused by the whole thing; Dustin and I laughed, and we snuck back home around 10:30pm tonight so as to not disappoint everyone! Haha!
If the hospital had, like, special drinking water that made contractions stronger and closer, than surely I would go. Seeing as how the hospital has nothing to offer me to kick natural labor into gear, than home is as good a place as any.
After eating, we walked around Wal-Mart for a bit. Then we went to our friend's house, where Lara is currently spending the night in case I go into hard labor at 3am or something. This is her first sleep-over, and we went over to put her down for bed and say goodnight. We left with Lara and her new best friend Kennedy (who is 3) giggling and squealing and talking like 12-year-olds. We have to be careful, though, because it seems like Kennedy's mommy may not give Lara back to us! :)
