Life is Good

I feel good!! Goodbye, crankiness! Goodbye, impatience! Goodbye, irritability! Hello, sleep! Hello, energy! Claire continues to sleep all night. Last night, she slept about 11 hours straight. I celebrated by buying this really cute pink purse today (okay, so it might also be an early V-Day present)!

This is the first day in MONTHS that I have gone all day without thinking, "If I don't seriously get some sleep soon, my head is going to explode." I'm not having to use quite as much make-up to cover up those shadows under my eyes anymore, and I woke up this morning actually feeling okay for once that it was morning.

But better still, I have no regrets. None. I questioned myself a great deal about Claire's sleeping habits. I'm not sure that it was any one particular thing, but perhaps a combination, that finally got her to sleep. Despite it all, I'm not saying, "I wish I had done this differently." I feel good about the process we went through as Claire learned to sleep. And, through it all, my friends, I am not afraid to have more children. :-) You see how lucky I am!

You know, I think my husband is pretty cool. The other day, I was ranting about some wheat bread I was making..."I thought it would be bigger- It didn't rise enough! Oh, no, something is wrong. I don't think it is going to turn out right. What should I do?" Dustin walked over and calmly said, "Oh, are you looking for things to worry about? Because I can help you with that. There's Haiti, world hunger, fighting..." I think you are very lucky if you have a spouse who can keep things in perspective for you. I am the sort of person who needs a good dose of perspective on a daily basis.

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
