Love and Hate

Seven things that bother me.

1. Driving through a city, where friends say, "Let's meet at Meadow Park and relax in this beautiful weather!" and you get there and it's a little (very little) clearing surrounded by tall concrete buildings with a few trees sticking up and a play set where really everyone is, and THIS is how they enjoy the OUTSIDE. Destroying Earth is what we are all doing. V. sad.

2. People who do not understand when to give advice (random thought, no advice given to me is causing me to say this). Still working on this one myself. You can only give advice to someone if you have a very caring, genuine, open relationship-if they understand you have a servant's heart. If you do not have this relationship, even if you still care, you only come across as critical and attempting to imply victim of advice stupid. This is why someone may give the exact same advice as you, but you somehow are the only one who ends up hurting feelings. Also if getting paid, advice may be given. Going to start charging people for advice they give me.

3. People who tailgate. V. dangerous.

4. Ants who have magical ability to pop out of thin air. V. annoying. Come to my house and watch this spectacular display if you want; I watch it all day long.

5. America's standing army on 4th of July. Grateful to soldiers and their families, but our standing army is, in fact, not maintaining freedom. Wish they would be sent home. Wish only to be used for self-defense. Then truly appreciated for what they are doing, and not receiving lip service from people who do not know where Afghanistan is on map. Terrorists like ants; cannot get rid of.

6. Tooth decay.

7. The donut around my middle.

Seven things that I love:

1. Being a stay-at-home mom. Finding my groove with being a mother of two. So it only took 13 months. Feeling v. fulfilled and relaxed.

2. Summer evenings in the country.

3. Living in a country of freedom and opportunity. My ancestors came from countries that also had freedom and opportunity, so I'd be okay there too, but either way, lucked out.

4. Books that make you laugh out loud. Finished Bridget Jones' Diary after searching the library shelves for some fun light reading. A perfect book. Hilarious and much too short. This is the reason why [my] sentences are short and often miss first person pronouns.

5. Family who visit you and keep in touch with you.

6. Walking & jogging. Attempted to get up at 6 this morning to wog. It didn't work. I didn't think it would, but you never know til you try. Thought about purchasing gym membership, but maybe cheaper to buy treadmill in long run. But no room for treadmill in my 1150 sq ft house.

7. Getting some time to myself. Dustin is taking the girls' to grandma's tonight for a swim; his idea that I stay home and rest. Wonderful idea and wonderful husband. But what will I do?

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
