What a week it has been! As mentioned before, we got through the week with our VBS. On top of that, we all took our turns with a cold. On Saturday, we spent some time with Dustin's family at a send-off cook-out for Dustin's cousin who left for college yesterday. We stayed in Homer for the night, did some swimming, and just came home Sun. night. These last two nights have been the first in awhile that we are all home as a family.

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday afternoon (well, just two), and am thoroughly amazed at what a simple and easy experience it was. You hear all sorts of stories-people on the brink of death, preferring childbearing over the recovery of wisdom teeth removal, heads swelling up like watermelons, etc. So I am so surprised because I have been pain-free. It only hurts a little when I eat, but there has been no bruising, swelling, or pain. There was some pain throughout my entire jaw when the numbing medication wore off the first day (I also did not have any anesthesia), but I took some otc Tylenol and was fine. Have taken nothing today. Took the girls to the library today and went on a walk in the evening, so it's like I never needed to recover. One of the teeth was entirely impacted, so that required drilling, and little bits of bone were flying all about, but it only took a minute to get each tooth out, so it was no big deal. Nothing at all to get nervous about. I was quite nervous when I went in, and had a really hard time signing the paperwork because I was shaking so bad. I am hitting my head in that "stupid, stupid" sort of way, because these teeth should have come out long ago, but I was too scared. Apparently, 3 major ear surgeries and 2 drug-free childbirths does, in fact, not make you any less scared about things. Although, does leave one feeling briefly empowered.

Anyway, here is a cute video of the girls. It's the little things in life that make sweet, innocent children so happy.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
