Lack of Structure

Over the last month, there has been very little routine and structure in our house. As most of us know, this is KEY to maintaining a happy home with young children. In addition to that, I've been very disappointed in myself with my lack of exercise and nutritional eating. It's December, so all of this is to be expected. But now that Christmas is over, we are paying for it. The kids are needy and emotional. Mommy is tired and bloated. ;) We are going to get through this week, and then start back into a normal life on Monday. School, exercise, routine, structure. In the meantime, this week has been somewhat torturous.

This is an exciting time for my family. A few days ago, my little sister got engaged! I knew it was coming soon as my parents confided in me that a ring had been bought. But her boyfriend simply couldn't figure out how or when to do it (he's not much of a planner anyway) and he just sort of popped the question while they were hanging out one night. They both called me a dozen times that night, but I was already in bed. The next morning, I got in touch with Karee as soon as I could, worried something was wrong. ;) I am very happy for my sister. And my girls LOVE Jesse (her fiance), and I like him too, but even if I didn't, I'd be alright as long as he is good to my girls. ;) No specific date has been set; if Karee chooses to have a wedding, it will be immediate families only. None of us on my side of the family really care, but this will be the first wedding in Jesse's family, and they seem to be a little more of the conventional type, so we will see.

Happy New's Year Eve! Just the other day, I was searching for something in my blog, and came across this post. It was neat to read this in light of hunting for New Year's resolutions. I was not actually hunting for any, but it is that time of year when we think about what we want to change and do better with.

Speaking of hunting, I did a little .22 rifle shooting today, and, of course, it is enjoyable. I shot Santa Claus dead on, so Christmas is over. But first, a few pictures:
The girls put together a nativity scene. They worked on it all month long, putting up one piece every day.
The girls love these dresses that their Grandma made for them!
Now they are set for Princess land.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
