Easter thoughts from Dustin

So, Easter is here once again and I am unimpressed. I understand the spiritual importance of Easter but I am always underwhelmed by the celebrations. We always travel to family after church for a big meal - which means that we are always rushing around and we end up exhausted by the end of the day. That doesn't sound like much of a celebration to me! Not this year though. This year we are having dinner at our house.



Its pretty exciting too. We are making a lot of food and having some fun people over. Lara is going to like it a lot -- her two favorite things are food and attention, and she will be getting large amounts of both. I plan to make a desert I had a few weeks ago called death by chocolate that is really yummy.



To change the subject a little, we have fun at my job - sometimes at the expense of others. Here is a little Easter greeting that was sent around to my team:

Let me tell you a few things so this makes more sense. I work night shift, 11 pm - 9 am and my job can sometimes be a little bit slow. We can do a few things to pass the time like read or throw a ball around, but we are not supposed to sleep. This poor fellow claims that he doesn't sleep on the job, but thanks to a cell phone camera, the truth is out. One of my other team members took the photo and did some basic editing in photoshop to make it more festive.

And here is a video that one of my friends showed me this week. Take notice that there is a little bit of swearing at the end of the video. Also, it takes a certain sense of humor to enjoy this. You have been warned...





Finally, we thought about taking Lara to see the Easter Bunny but we decided that it was probably not a good idea. Every time we thought about it we had flashbacks to Christmas when this happened.
