Lara is loud! Lately, she has been babbling NON-STOP, very loudly. In fact, I was talking with some friends on Saturday night, and I could hardly hear them over Lara's talking (just reminded me of all those irritating times I tried to hang out with parent friends while their children crawled all over me and yelled). I am telling you, she loves her voice. She'll just sit there and say, "AhdabeohmabeohAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!" It really is very funny...except when she does this right in my ear. Lara has always been a babbler, but this is taking it to a whole new level. She
is especially adorable when she reads her books. She babbles when she reads her books, and she looks at them very intently, carefully flipping through each page, and every once in awhile you will hear a word. "BabaseedolaaBABY!abadadaeeooooKITTY!mmeeelaamaaMOO!beoh..." And, then, seriously, she closes the book and says, "The End." Of course, it sounds like 'ee-an', but how adorable is that? Are you starting to see how much we read books? Lara is OBSESSED with books, and every one of those letters deserves to be capitalized. She sits in her reading corner on her boppy and just reads and reads. The book you see there in the picture is one of Lara's favorites. It's an educational book on cats.
I love to read, but can't get to it as much as I would like. I am a slow reader and don't understand things very quickly, so I need to make sure I'm in a good frame of mind to read. Dustin is different. He has read...what, 2 or 3 books in the last week or 2? Dustin reads a lot, and he likes to buy books that he will never read (can't blame him, I do the same). One day, when those money trees finally grow, I would love to convert our garage into a playroom/library.
Anyway, I told Dustin he is going to have a blast when he and Lara grow up (heehee) and can read books together. They can discuss what they read, and poor mommy will say, "But I'm still on page 5! Wait for me! It'll only take me another year!"
