Bolleyball

My niece spent the weekend with us. I taught her about the Summer Olympics, of which I am a fan. I told Sarah to go into the living room and have Uncle Dustin explain to her what was on the TV at that point in the Olympics. Sarah came back and told me that it was Bolleyball. "Bolleyball? How do they play it?" I asked. She then explained that they put up a NEST and throw a ball back and forth over it. Gotta love 5 year-olds.

We stayed super busy, and I feel that I am just now starting to wind down from my weekend. We played in the sandbox, painted with sidewalk paint, swam, grocery shopped, went to a birthday party, church-ed, made some pretty pictures, and made smores (recipe at the bottom). Whew! Being an aunt is a lot of fun. You get all the effect of being a parent, without any of the bad stuff.

Lara had her 6mo evaluation at the developmental pediatrician's office this morning. He says Lara is doing "great" and that he doesn't have any concerns.

The recipe:
6 graham cracker squares
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon peanut butter
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
Spray small pan with cooking spray. Place graham cracker squares in a ziploc and break into small pieces, about the size of a postage stamp.
Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together over low heat, stirring all the time. Remove from heat and add marshmallows and graham crackers. Spread mixture into pan, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Store leftovers in the fridge.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
