Are you still here?

Are you still reading my blog, despite that I have been a big slacker lately?? I hope so!

This weekend was pretty low-key. I took Lara to church on Saturday for a Kidstuf celebration, which is a family-centered worship hour. We brought along some food and hoped to get the neighborhood involved in the fun too. I'm not sure if anyone living nearby came over; Lara and I stayed long enough to grab a hot dog before meeting Grandma and Grandpa. Lara stayed over at their house for the weekend while Dustin and I took it easy.
Today, we picked Lara up at the pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins! And we also got some yummy apple butter and apple cider. Don't you just love fall?

On another note, I have found myself somewhat irritated at a blog I stumbled upon. The concept of natural childbirth was brought up in a most saddening way. All I can say is, if you think it is ridiculous to have a drug-free childbirth, shame on you. And if you think it is unnecessary for a woman to have drugs, shame on you. I didn't have a drug-free birth because I thought it was the "right" and "best" thing to do. It's just what felt good for me. Every woman should do what feels right for her; childbirth is an incredibly personal thing. It simply shows a lack of understanding of the beauty and magic of bringing a child into the world when you speak out against certain methods of delivery (drug-free or not). At least keep those opinions to yourself, because they generally are not going to change any minds.

Now, I'm going to hunker down in bed and maybe fall asleep watching a movie!

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
