I'm a Full-Term Momma!

We have made it to over 37 weeks now with NO complications; what a blessing! I will be 38 weeks on Friday, so this baby could be born at any time. Incredible to think about. I've been making freezer meals so we don't have to do too much cooking after the baby is born. Hopefully they will turn out okay; I don't think too highly of frozen foods. Our bags are packed and the carseat is in the car. We purchased a bassinet for our bedroom, and it's sweet. I really wanted a co-sleeper, but would not bring myself to pay almost $200 for one-a crib costs that much! But I really like the little bassinet; once Claire moves into her room, the bottom part will turn into a toy box-how handy. I had another appointment today, and there is nothing to tell. Everything is still looking just fine. I have gained a total of 30 lbs so far, which is perfect. Of ccourse, I do rather Claire wait until she is 40 weeks to come. I am uncomfortable and am having contractions (so you always start thinking, "Is it almost time? Is this it?"), but I want a nice, big, fat baby! What I would really love is for a pregnancy to really only last, like, 5 months, instead of 9. I mean, 9 months is a REALLY long time, right, mommies?

Now, I was telling a pregnant girl I know about my 27-week preterm labor scare with Lara. She responds by saying, "I wish I could have preterm labor so this baby will come out NOW!" (This was when she was 31 weeks.) Umm....yeah.....

The weather has just been gorgeous lately, and it is wonderful being able to be outside, open the windows, get some fresh air. Of course, all I can do is sit around like a beached whale, but Lara is getting great exercise. She is currently learning to ride a bike. If she actually puts forth effort, she can pedal a little ways, but she is not usually very cooperative. Because of the tightness in her ankles and legs, we actually have to attach her feet to the pedals by tying shoe strings around them-at therapy, she uses some wood & velcro contraptions; this does not bother her at all. This is really good exercise for Lara, and Gretchen wants Lara to be riding a bike on her own by 3 years of age. Also, our neighbors just got this huge play set erected in their back yard, made by their parents. There are steps that are perfect for Lara to climb up on her own and some swings and slides, and this all provides great exercise for her as well, without us having to go to a park and deal with big kids. Since we are friends with our neighbors, and the play set is 2 feet from our back yard, we can play on it whenever we want.

Mother's Day is coming up! Dustin asks me what I want for Mother's Day, and I tell him, but he says no to everything I want! :P Even though I allowed him to enter into a whole new world of media technology this month... :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

You know I'll have to have a talk with him. I mean seriously for one you're the pregnant one and two you need to come visit! We'll work on this. :)

I'm glad to hear that everything is going so well!

Haha. Maybe Claire will be born on Mother's Day so Dustin doesn't have to worry about getting you anything. ;)

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
