I've been getting a little bored of blogging-I feel like I type in the same old stuff. Nothing exciting or special is going on here, but life continues to be fun with 2 daughters. And full of surprises (which often means a lot of laundry). The girls are doing really well. Mommy and daddy are doing well, too (we even got a date night a couple nights ago thanks to Grandma). Life is pretty busy, simply in that it requires a great deal of effort just to get out of the house by 9:30am. A lot of projects are going undone-I have to remind myself that this is in keeping with having a one-month-old; "I'll get to it when I get to it" is becoming my motto.
I'm trying to think if my week consisted of anything more exciting than Lara's poopy in the potty, and other than that Claire has started giving real smiles, I don't think so.
Currently, Claire is sleeping soundly in her baby swing, while Lara plays around the house after finishing a math lesson. She is recognizing numbers and can count a little in her head-- NOT out loud. My weekly schedule continues to go generally unfollowed, but only because we're doing good at keeping the days full I think, and that was the point.
I'm reading a great book called the PAPA Prayer. I've only managed the first 6 chapters, so I'm not sure that I recommend it yet, but I think it's going to be good. It's beginning to tackle some serious questions that I've had about prayer, which all boils down to the way I pray. I've got to run into town tonight for the book discussion.
In the meantime, I am working on some events for Women's Ministry at the church. I love doing this-just setting up events. I don't really feel called to minister to women (well, not in a specific church-ministry team sort of way), but I do love organizing events to bring us all together, to have fun together, cry, laugh, whatever is needed. To enhance our relationships and make our community deeper. This mentality is met with passive opposition by many women, some who just don't care, some who are too busy, and some who need their hands to be held by other women to join our events. But that's okay! Little do they know we have their names down on little post-it notes as we seek them out. :) Okay, not really.
My ministry right now is...my children. When I think about everything I want to teach them, to show them, how to guide them, their mental and physical health, wow, I feel very overwhelmed. But I tell myself to relax and have fun, and it's only then that things start going smoothly. Right now, I just need to focus on the girls. And enjoy the girls!
