So far here in Virginia...

We are in to Day 5 on our trip to Virginia Beach, and we are having a lovely time. Lara and Claire did super great on the ride down here. I'm not really sure, but I think it probably took us somewhere around 15 hours to get here, but we broke the trip up into 2 days-a very good idea with two little ones. We had no problems. And the mountains we traveled through were beautiful to view.

On Monday, we took a brief tour of Dustin's sister's school. I love the semi-colonial style of things down here. There's a modern, historical look to things, Gilmore-girlish. Yesterday (Tuesday), we went to the Children's Discovery Museum to give Lara something to experience, but they are renovating their building, and it was less than mediocre. I'm sure it will be really fun at the end of 2010 when the museum is finished. Last night, we left the girls home with Dustin's family while Dustin and I went out to a really nice restaurant called Terrapin. What a blessing to spend a 2-hour dining experience together! We did a tasting menu, and asked the chef to bring us out whatever she desired. It was delicious, and I ate foie gras and a pumpkin polenta. And ate duck for the first time, too, and it was great.

I haven't taken too many pictures, sadly, because I didn't want to bring my camera on top of everything else we were packing. But we are all pretty, so don't worry. And the new clothes I bought yesterday with the help of Dustin's sister and mom are pretty too!! It was so nice to go shopping for myself.

So we are doing good and having a lovely time-VA Beach is a fun place. The few pictures I took I will post soon. It's nice to spend good quality time with family!!

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
