A Day in Our Life.

7am: Rise and Shine.  The girls anyway. After I make the girls some eggs and ham, we head upstairs to get ready for the day.  Oh my goodness, your room is a disaster! Clean it up!  Look at all these toys I found under your bed!

9: Fold your laundry and put it away please.  (Respond to the usual arguments.)

9:15: I have 30 minutes to get ready for the day, while responding to the girls' many needs.  So, really, make that 20 minutes to get hair and make-up done.

9:45: Let's go, move it!  Put your coats on, out the door!

10am: Drop Claire off at Nana's.  She is going on a trip to visit her great-grandma in Paris, IL.  I finish up a little computer work for Long Lane Honey Bee Farms while I am there.  Lara keeps busy by changing the business' work calendar to a new month, filling in new numbers and writing down when the beekeeping classes are.

10:30: Back at home, Lara and I sit down for lessons.  We look at the globe.  Show me where United States of America is.  You mean USA?  Now show me China.  We talk about continents vs. countries vs. states.  I have no curriculum.  We are just talking.  I stop often to talk to my brother Seth who is training with his marine unit in the Mojave desert.  He playfully tells me to come visit him over Easter.  Does he know I actually probably am?  I won't tell him yet until it's for sure.  Okay, sorry, Lara, let me tell you about Africa. We read a little.  Honestly, I don't much feel in the mood for lessons today, but we really should do something, since we went shopping yesterday and didn't do them yesterday.  I stop and text my friend about gymnastics class for our little girls.  I print out Lara's copy work and tell her to get to it.  I normally am not this out of it, but it's just one of those days.  Lara, what if I have 37 and add 10 more?

11:30: Eventually Lara finds her way to the bathroom while I get her math worksheets ready, where she is attempting to straighten her hair with water in preparation for a birthday party.  How sweet.  I get out my hair straightener and flat iron her hair.  We wrap the birthday present and Lara makes a birthday card for her friend.

12:30pm: I get us some lunch.

1:45: I drop Lara off at the birthday party and head home.

2:15: Mom brings Claire home and I put her down for a nap.

2:30: I work on revamping some items on Long Lane's website.  (I work 6 hours in office, and often do a few more at home when I can.)

3:30: I wake up Claire, and go over to the birthday party a little early to spend some time talking with my friend.  Lara has a wonderful time and is mopey to come home.

4:20: Home again.  Dustin is up from bed and we discuss evening plans.  Dustin has an idea to go to dinner with his parents at a local Mexican place.

5:00: I only got 4 hours of sleep the night before, so I lay down for a quick cat nap while the girls play Sims on the computer.

5:45: Dinner with Grandma and Grandpa

7:30: Home again.  Dustin puts the girls in bed. I sit and read for almost 3 hours.  HEAVEN!!

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
