A Hot Day

It looks like summer has finally hit, hasn't it? Okay, well, for us anyway-the people who still hadn't turned on their AC as of 7-12-08 and needed a blanket to watch the July 4th fireworks. Now it's on all the time, how sad.
We had another play date this morning, and it was nice. The girls went back to Lara's bedroom, where they kept laughing and squealing at intervals. After a bit, I checked it out, and they were hugely enjoying themselves making a big mess all over the room. I've been toying with the idea of starting a play group in Atlanta. Part of me doesn't want to because I am shy, but another part tells me that us moms in quiet Atlanta probably need a lot more interaction than our babies do! I will be busy in the fall though. I will be making a little extra money watching our neighbors' children, as well as doing a couple days of subbing every month. It's doubtful I will have the energy, but it sure would be nice.

Because it's hot, hot, Lara and I joined friends at the State Farm pool this afternoon. We stayed out there quite a bit and had a fun time. Reece and Lara apparently are discussing teddy graham politics.
Lara has finally started telling me when her diaper is dirty. She scrunches up her face and says, "I inky" (stinky). Then she hightails it into the bedroom so we can change her diaper.
Also, yay! Lara gets her braces tomorrow! Then we stick around for a round of therapy.

Summer Start

Dustin and I planted tomato plants last night.  The evening was stunningly beautiful. Granted I had to put on a sweatshirt, but it was on...
